The brief was to create a front cover for a freshers guide to meditation that would appeal to Oxford University students, using the concept of a healthy balance and encourage them to find out more about it.

I worked with Bev from Age Concern to create a whole brand campaign and associated materials for their celebration of 70 years of the charity. They were awarded funding by the Big Lottery for a community event and put on a vintage themed festival in Surrey. Our starting point was a name for the festival; we wanted a positive, summery feel, with a nod to celebrating the older generation, but would still include the whole family.
Working with Bev was a great experience - her energy and sincerity drove the vision for the event and it was an overwhelming success for Age Concern.

Surrey Roller Girls are a roller derby team based in Guildford. Roller derby is a fast paced, chaotic and full contact sport, and Surrey Roller Girls wants to make their image show they take this seriously.
Community and acceptance is also fundamental to who they are, and their promotional materials needed to balance the elements of this identity.
Working with them on various projects was really good fun. They encouraged me to be playful with their themes and their passion was infectious.

I am an avid festival goer. I love the chaos, the colours and the overwhelming attack on all the senses. It’s an alternative reality. When you go home, it’s back to the real world with a bump.
This work is about the surreal nature of being immersed in such a place.

Wimblehurst Chocolates | Print | 2014
The heart of Wimblehurst Chocolates is that they are handmade, high quality, with natural ingredients and no preservatives.
The menu needed to emphasise these qualities, so we decided upon illustrations of the chocolates rather than photographs, as the chocolates are handmade, they have variations in appearance and each one may not look like a photo.

I can remember sitting and sketching this tiny village in the mountains of Solukhumbu in Nepal.
There is no substitute for putting something down on paper as soon as you think it, before the moment Ăs gone. It records not only your idea, but what was happening the moment you saw it. Mark making tells a story.

I was inspired by working with Electric Pedals on a pedal powered stall at Summer Sundae Festival in Leicester to illustrate how they work and what their mission is; to get people to understand how much energy is needed to fuel every day items like their mobile phone or kettle, where this fuel comes from and the impact it has on their world. .
